Kawasaki has officially unveiled the 2025 versions of its small-displacement sportbike Ninja ZX-25R in Japan, now available in SE and RR configurations. Both versions feature a 250cc inline four-cylinder engine — the only one in its class — along with mechanical, aesthetic, and technological upgrades.

Engine loses some power

The new 2025 ZX-25R has undergone performance adjustments:
Maximum power changed from 35 kW (48 hp) at 15,500 rpm to 34 kW (46 hp) at 16,000 rpm

Torque decreased from 22 Nm to 21 Nm, both at 12,500 rpm

According to Kawasaki, the claimed fuel consumption is 25.1 km/l at a constant 60 km/h and 18.1 km/l under WMTC conditions.

The ZX-25RR version is equipped with a Showa BFRC-lite rear shock absorber, the same type used in the brand’s high-performance models. It also features exclusive graphics with the “RR” logo and a clear windshield. The SE version retains a more conventional look but includes premium finishes and a digital TFT display.

Both bikes are compatible with the RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE, allowing voice commands and navigation via smartphone. Upon purchase, customers receive a QR code that provides one year of free access to the app’s features.
